Founder & Senior Care Specialist

Melinda Landon is caring and a true professional.  Her attention to detail, and depth of compassion make her one of the most effective Placement Professionals in the San Diego area.

“After graduating from college I worked as a rehabilitation nurses aid in a skilled nursing facility.  Fell in love with seniors because of their life stories, accomplishments, adventures and their personal experiences. My mother worked in the same SNF as an Activities Director and I watched her brighten the lives of others and knew that whatever I would choose as a life long career it would need to be – servicing seniors or others and improving their quality of life.

“I spent over 25 years in sales and marketing and have been married for 25 years and have 3 awesome children.

“I am the owner and founder of “Sunset Senior Placement, LLC.” – Senior care and advocacy.

Kiersten McLean

Senior Care Specialist

Kiersten McLean comes to Sunset Senior Placement as a Senior Care Coordinator. She graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After many years in the human resource industry, Kiersten is thrilled to be joining our team!

“I have lived in the Southern California area for 20 plus years with my husband raising our three children. Thru the countless hours spent volunteering with my daughters to help our local seniors, I have found a true passion for working with the elderly and their loved ones. I believe I have a special gift for helping and serving others.”

Kiersten’s clients can expect dedication, commitment, and a genuine desire to help each and every family find the best place for their loved one.

Mishelle Reed

Senior Care Coordinator

Mishelle has 28 years of experience of sales and marketing experience servicing accounts and going the extra mile. She has a compassionate heart for Seniors and helping them navigate all the options available to them and experiencing personal experiences that has
put her in a position that this is what she wants to do.

Mishelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.  Mishelle’s positive high energy, and determination to exceed her clients expectations enabled her to be a great advocate for the families and seniors she serves.

“I’m excited to be apart of this journey where my energy and efforts will make a difference in someone’s life and that will be rewarding for me to help you.  When I’m not helping my clients, I spend my free time playing pickleball, a little golf and practicing my yoga.”

Mishelle’s customer service experience and background along with her passion to help others will be an asset in helping our seniors. We are very excited to have Mishelle join our team representing Sunset Senior Placement.

Jamie Gutierrez

Office Administrator

Jamie Gutierrez comes to Sunset Senior Placement with 20 years of experience working in healthcare. She has worked at local hospitals with a specialty of Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology. Her line of work has made Jamie very detail oriented and able to connect and listen to people on many levels. She is very compassionate and enthusiastic about helping others. Jamie also has a background in Emergency Medicine, hospility, customer service, data input and is currently a Notary Public . She was born and raised in San Diego and takes pride in raising her family here. Jamie is happily married to her husband who is a local Firefighter Paramedic. They have two young children and stay busy in their time off with family camping trips and entertaining family and friends.

Jamie looks forward to helping those in her community and has a deep respect and understanding of the families during this emotional transition.
